Les Tillack
CEO


Working for Progen Pharmaceuticals for the last 11 years, Les has worked with and overseen Progen's anti cancer drug PI-88s progression from preclinical to phase 3 manufacture. During this period, he has also been responsible for the tech transfer and manufacture of many client products for both clinical applications and marketed products. Les holds a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. Prior to commencing with Progen, Les spent 11 years working in clinical pathology for Drs Sullivan and Nicolaides Pathologists and has worked on various research projects for both the Department of Primary Industries and the University of Queensland.

Graeme Harland
VP Quality and Regulatory Affairs


Graeme joined Progen in 2005 as Quality Assurance Manager/Director Quality, with responsibility for all quality assurance and quality control functions. During this time he was responsible for the development and validation of procedures supporting the phase 3 manufacture of PI-88. Prior to working for Progen, Graeme was Site Manager for a large analytical services company, managing 3 laboratories. Previous to this, Graeme spent 15 years as Quality Assurance Manager for 2 medium to large pharmaceutical companies, both producing in excess of 100 batches of product per month. In these roles he was responsible for all quality assurance, quality control and regulatory issues. Graeme has nearly 30 years pharmaceutical industry experience. He holds a BAppSc (Hons) in chemistry from the New South Wales Institute of Technology.

Dr Brett Butcher
Production Manager


Brett has been a valuable member of Progen since 2002, performing the role of Senior Scientist, he has specialised in manufacturing and downstream processing of pharmaceuticals including Progen's anti cancer drug PI-88. Since 2007 he has assisted in the management of Progen's operations division. Brett has vast knowlege in many areas of biochemistry and has been granted a PhD in yeast biochemistry which investigated real time membrane fluidity modulation as part of the adaptative response of yeast.

Dr Bin Wang
Senior Bioprocessing Scientist


Dr Bin Wang has been a senior Bioprocessing scientist for 12 years. Bin's field of expertise is in fermentation and during this time, he has been responsible for the fermentation of a wide variety of organisms. These have included recombinant E.coli, Pichia, Pseudomonas, Serratia, Streptomyces and many others. Bin has skills in bioreactions from small scale development in shake flasks or small fermenters through to large scale production fermenters. Bin has a Bachelor of Food and Fermentation Engineering from the Tianjin Institute of Light Industry, and a Master of Microbiology from the Beijing Agriculture University. In 1993, He was awarded a Ph.D in Biotechnology from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
